Solicitor 2-4 years, Energy, Resources, Projects (Mergers & Acquisitions)

Are you a Solicitor who is currently working in an M&A or Banking and Finance practice team? Do you want to increase your exposure to the energy sector and better use your commercial skills to offer creative solutions to clients? Working on some of Australia's an Asia's most complex transactions; you will join the Energy, Resources and Projects team within the Mergers & Acquisitions group. Add to this, a friendly firm who believe in a work/life balance and this could very well be your ideal role.

About the Role

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Solicitor (2-4 years) to join their Energy, Resources and Projects team (Equity & Mergers), based in Sydney.

The nature of the work will include:

  • Complex transactions in Australia and Asia
  • Acting on behalf of the region's largest and most significant public companies, major financial institutions and global investment banks
  • Managing cutting edge transactions with an interesting mix of finance, resources and corporate work including infrastructure, renewable energy and PPP transactions
  • Work with industry leaders in high profile transactions

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Debt, banking and finance transactional experience (in any of the projects, PPPs, acquisition or corporate finance) or
  • Projects experience (in any of energy, resources, projects/PPPs)
  • Previous experience in an Australian or overseas law firm, preferably large top end
  • Excellent analytical, communication and research skills
  • High level client service and well developed relationship management ability
  • The ability to facilitate effective teamwork by developing strong internal relationships
  • Good drafting skills with experience in drafting large and complex facility, security and inter-creditor documentation and advice work
  • The ability to identify and think through complex legal issues and to provide practical and effective solutions
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
