 About the Role

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Junior Employment Lawyer (2-3 years), based in Melbourne.

The nature of the work will include:

  • Acting for small and large companies and some senior employees on all aspects of employment and industrial relations law in the areas of:
  • Employment contracts
  • Equal opportunity and discrimination issues
  • Unfair dismissal
  • Contractor Agreements
  • Disputes with Unions
  • Matters in Fair Work Australia
  • Termination of employment, including dismissals and redundancy
  • Employment policies and procedures
  • Employment law disputes in the courts

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 2-3 years experience in employment and industrial relations law with a passion for this area
  • The ability to deal directly with clients and to support the practice's marketing endeavours
  • Skills in legal research, client liaison with the ability to understand client needs and form practical solutions
  • Knowledge of the Fair Work Act
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good negotiation skills
  • Some litigation experience
